As ESEE, we have been holding two separate elections in November-December 2014, one for ordinary Board Members and one for Student Representative. The aim was to fill the positions of 7 Board Members and one Student Representative for the period 2015-2017.
The seventh international Ecosystem Services Partnership conference is titled ‘Local action for the common good’. It will focus on the use of the ecosystem services concept at the local level, with special emphasis on Latin America and Costa Rica.
In addition to several high-level keynotes and an opening address by the Costa Rican Minister of Environment, the core of the conference is built around 45 workshops and special sessions hosting over 270 presentations on a wide range of topics on the science, policy and practice of ecosystem services. Several EU funded projects will present results of 4-5 years of research on the use of Ecosystem Services in Community Based Ecosystem Management in Latin America and there are several free pre-conference trainings on practical tools for ecosystem service assessment. » Read the full article
ESEE board is pleased to open call for series of transdisciplinary and collaborative training institutes on Ecological Economics aimed at early career researchers, practitioners and decision-makers in Europe. Events can be focused on any of the diverse range of topics associated with ecological economics, but will share a common participatory approach and structure.
