International Cooperation within the New Research Framework Programme of the EU

The European Society for Ecological Economics is building up a database of research groups in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia in order to foster international cooperation and research in ecological economics within the 7th framework programme of the European Union.

The aim of this form is to gather information about your research interests. By consulting the database, research groups with similar interest may establish contact with you and start the development of joint proposals to be submitted to the European Commission.

Click here (excel-file) to view the list of people already registered in the database.

The new framework programme (7th) of the European Union emphasizes very much international cooperation. In this new scheme, countries outside the EU may participate as partners in all the calls. Furthermore, there are specific calls devoted to “specific international co-operation action”.

For a geneal overview of the FP7, the work programmes and calls please check: http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/home_en.html. There are at least three themes under which collaborative research on ecological economics may take place (“Environment”, “Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology”; and “Socioeconomic Sciences and Humanities”).

For collaborative projects, at least 3 independent legal partners, each located in a different EU country (or associated countries) are necessary

For collaborative projects for “specific cooperation actions”, at least 4 independent legal entities are needed, 2 of them must be in Europe and 2 in different international cooperation partners.

These are minimum numbers, since consortia with a number of partners above the minimum are encouraged.

For filing out this form you would need first to read the following three documents, where the subjects of the calls are specified:

1.Call Fiche Theme 2: Food, Agriculture and Fisheries [download]

2.Call Fiche Theme 6: Environment [download]

3.Call Fiche Theme 8: Socioeconomic sciences and humanities [download]
